Robbery at Burnie's Rock Shop - Madison, WI

Madison, WI - January 28, 2018

Burnie's Rock Shop was broken into early Sunday morning with several thousands of dollars in merchandise being stolen, Madison police Chief Mike Koval said in his daily incident blog. Officers went to the jewelry store at 901 E. Johnson St. around 1:15 a.m. after an alarm was triggered, Koval said. A window in the front of the store was smashed, and a trail of blood led away from the business, Koval said. The store was checked by officers, and the robbery remains under investigation, he said.

To whom it may concern,

Our shop located at 901 E. Johnson St. in Madison, WI was broken into on Sunday morning at 1am this past weekend. The police are involved with this case.

This email is intended to share what a sample of the stolen items may look like, with specific attention towards the unique type of Sterling bail options (some are removable), as well as the detail(s) on the laser cut filigree on the bezel and prong settings. Again, these images show items that have not been stolen, just similar qualities to what was stolen.

The number of Sterling .925 pendants w/ Colored faceted gemstones and cabochons missing is over 500+. In addition, there were x8+ Ring trays: Black leather-clad w/ grey foam interior w/ individual slots for rings, each tray holds about 72 rings x 8 trays total about 575+ rings. Most of the rings & pendants lost were set with just one stone; most of the rings had smooth shanks or split shanks.

A rotating, 2-tier rack held a selection of our Sterling Silver chains in varying styles and lengths from 16" to 30" or 40", and a selection of 14KY Gold-filled chains.

Please contact Crime Stoppers, the police, Manager(s) at Burnie's Rock Shop if any information is known or if any individual tries to sell any of this inventory.

We will be open for regular business hours starting tomorrow, Tues. Jan. 30 from 10-6pm.

Thank you for any and all help with this matter.
